Five Tools to Keep in Your Car

If you are like most people, you spend a decent chunk of each day in your car. That is why it is important to keep certain tools on hand at all times, in case of emergency. Here are five essential tools that everyone should have in their car:

Safety hammer
These hammers are an essential piece of safety equipment. In the unfortunate event that you are in a car accident, this type of hammer can most effectively break through the glass in your car, providing you with a quick and easy exit.

Jumper cables
Having a dead battery is a real bummer. But even if your battery can no longer hold a charge, jumper cables will get you back on the road so you can head over to the nearest shop for a new one.

Tow strap
Nobody ever imagines that they will need to be towed, but it does happen. If you need a tow, it is best to have a tow strap on hand. You’d be surprised how many people don’t keep one in their car or truck, so having one for yourself is a great idea.

Knife
A knife is an extremely useful tool. It can help you cut your seatbelt off in an emergency, strip wires, remove tangled debris from your axles, and much more.

Duct tape
Duct tape can come in handy in a variety of circumstances. First, it can provide a temporary fix for any leaks you may get under the hood. This can hopefully allow you to get to the nearest shop for a real solution. Another common use would be to (again, temporarily) re-attach a car body part, such as a fender or mirror, until you can get home.

Buying OEM parts online is a surefire way to get the most reliable parts possible for your car. Doing so significantly minimizes the risk that you’ll need any of the tools listed above. As always, it is better to be over-prepared, which is why we recommend keeping them on hand at all times
