Spring is here, and that means it is time for spring cleaning. Most people direct the majority of their spring cleaning efforts towards their home, but there is another place you spend a lot of time that could probably benefit from a deep clean: your car. If you are like most people, you are in your car for multiple hours every single day. Over the winter it can be a major hassle to properly clean your car. With the weather warming up, now is the time to give your car the care it deserves. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you begin your spring cleaning:
Your car is most likely in need of a deep clean after winter. It can sometimes feel pretty overwhelming to think about, but after you do it you will feel so much better. Start by making a list of what you want to get done. Remove all of the items from your car. Chances are you will have a lot of winter items in there that don’t need to take up space during warmer months, such as ice scrapers, snow shovels, extra gloves, hats, jackets, and so on.
Heading into spring is a great time to replace your windshield wiper blades. You’ll want them to be in great shape for any spring showers, and they are probably pretty worn down after winter. Wiper blades are an OEM part that you can buy online. You don’t want to skimp on your wiper blades; they are a safety feature that many people don’t give much thought to, but they are extremely important for safe driving.
You may not even realize it, but chances are good that your headlights are not letting through the full amount of light that they were originally designed to project. If your lights are too dim it can be a major safety hazard for driving at night. You can have this professionally done, or you can buy the necessary tools to do it yourself. Another option is to replace your headlights by buying the OEM part online.
Wash your wheels
After several long, cold months of driving in the snow, your wheels are probably pretty dirty. If you have hubcaps, this is a great time to remove them for a deep clean. Be sure to scrub them thoroughly to remove all of the grime that has built up over the winter. If you don’t have hubcaps, make sure to clean and polish your wheel set. Now is also a good time to shine your tires. Finally, be sure to spray out and scrub your wheel wells while you are focusing on this area of your car.
Deep clean the upholstery
Vacuuming and shampooing your upholstery can make your car feel brand new again, and spring is the perfect time to do it.
Wash your consoles
Take time to wipe down your consoles, paying extra attention to not get any water in the electrical connections. You may also want to deep clean your cupholders, door compartments, and any other storage areas in your car. Your interior will feel much more comfortable when it is fully clean.
Good luck with your spring cleaning, you will be glad you took the time to do it once it is done. If you find that you need to order any OEM parts online while you are doing your spring cleaning, give us a call!
